₹50 Crore Wolfdog: Bengaluru’s S Sathish Buys World’s Rarest Canine. See video
A dog breeder from Bengaluru, S Sathish, has purchased a rare “wolfdog” named Cadabomb Okami for a staggering 4.4 million USD (approximately Rs 50 crore). This makes Okami the world’s most expensive wolfdog. The canine is a unique mix of a wild wolf and a Caucasian Shepherd, and is just eight months old, weighing 75kg and standing 30 inches tall. S Sathish acquired Okami through a broker in February, according to The Sun.
In an interview with The Sun about his new pet, Sathish explained, “This dog is a rare breed that looks just like a wolf. It’s the first one of its kind to be sold anywhere in the world. The breed was developed in the US and is quite extraordinary. I spent 50 million rupees to buy this puppy because I have a passion for dogs and enjoy owning rare breeds to introduce to India.”
Caucasian Shepherds, renowned for their strength and thick fur, hail from cold regions like Georgia and Russia. They are often used to guard livestock against predators, including wolves.
Who is S Sathish?
S Sathish, a well-known dog breeder and head of the Indian Dog Breeders Association, stopped breeding dogs several years ago. He now makes a living by showcasing his rare dogs to animal enthusiasts. Sathish earns between Rs 2.5 lakh for a 30-minute appearance and Rs 10 lakh for a five-hour event, he revealed.
Sathish told The Sun, “I spent money on these dogs because they are rare. Additionally, I earn a lot from the attention they attract. People are always curious to see them, taking selfies and photos. My dog and I receive more attention than an actor at a movie premiere – we’re both crowd magnets.”
Sathish, who owns the world’s most expensive wolfdog, also has a Chow Chow that resembles a red panda. He keeps his dogs on a sprawling seven-acre farm, where each has a spacious 20ft by 20ft kennel. To ensure the safety of his pets, the property is surrounded by a 10ft-tall wall and monitored by 24/7 CCTV surveillance.
