44 govt employees face action against violation of RERA Act

In a recently revealed information it was found that over 44 government employees were found guilty of violating the RERA Act regulations who sanctioned over a thousand documents. This prompted immediate action by the Inspector General of Registration who suspended 11 employees while the rest are being questioned.
On Tuesday, the deputy inspector general of registration Govind Karad issued a press release informing and alerting citizens to avoid such a mechanism. The incident had come to light after Advocate Laxman Ghadge had moved a petition in November ,2020 alerting officials misusing their powers and illegally conducting registration of property of various thousand square feet plots.
In his application it was found that in sub registrar office ward number 1 to 27, from September 19, 2021 to June 30, 2021, a lot of illegal registration took place which violated the norms of RERA Act.
Acting on this information, a special squad was formed to probe and inspect. and it was found that more than 10,561 documents were prepared and registered in an illegal way by the officers. Most of the documents have been prepared at Pune based Haveli division office.
On March 3, the government of Maharashtra also issued a notice to take stringent action against it.
A senior official speaking to Pune Pulse said, “On April 4, 2022, 44 staffers and officers have been issued notices by the department for the inquiry purpose and 11 officials have been suspended on immediate basis.”
