Pune: 55-Year-Old Man Killed In Kalyani Nagar After Wrong-Side Biker Rams Two-Wheeler
Pune, March 5, 2026: A 55-year-old man was killed and his daughter injured after a motorcyclist riding on the wrong side allegedly rammed into their two-wheeler in Kalyani Nagar in Pune, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Machhindra More, who was travelling with his daughter Komal Machhindra More (28) at the time of the accident. The collision occurred near The Bishop’s School around 3 pm on February 3.
According to police, a motorcyclist travelling in the wrong direction suddenly crashed into the father–daughter duo’s vehicle. Both victims were rushed to a nearby hospital, where Machhindra More later succumbed to his injuries during treatment. His daughter sustained injuries in the accident.
After the crash, the accused biker allegedly fled the scene without offering assistance to the victims.
Based on a complaint filed by the deceased’s younger daughter Rina More (26), a case has been registered at Yerwada Police Station against an unidentified rider for reckless driving and hit-and-run. The investigation is being led by Police Sub-Inspector Kishore Berad.
Police officials said efforts are underway to identify and trace the accused. Authorities have also urged motorists to strictly follow traffic rules and wear helmets while riding two-wheelers.
Meanwhile, residents say Kalyani Nagar has witnessed a rise in road accidents in recent months, raising concerns about traffic safety in the area.
