Pune: Waterlogging Disrupts Traffic In Hadapsar–Mundhwa Area; Traffic Police Issue Advisory And Diversions
Pune: Midnight Water Pipeline Burst Floods Magarpatta City Area; Situation Now Under Control
Pune, March 23, 2026: Traffic movement in parts of Pune has been severely affected after a canal breach led to significant waterlogging in the Hadapsar area, particularly behind Magarpatta.
According to the Pune Traffic Police, water has accumulated on the road, resulting in near-complete disruption of traffic on the Magarpatta–Mundhwa Road. Heavy congestion has also been reported at Mundhwa Chowk. Authorities estimate that the water may remain on the road for the next 10 to 12 hours.
In response, officials have issued a traffic advisory, urging commuters to use alternative routes to avoid delays.
Suggested Diversions:
- Vehicles can take the route via Vaiduwadi Chowk → Shinde Vasti → Shirke Road → Jahangir Nagar Chowk → Tadigutta → Mundhwa Chowk.
- Another option is via 93 Avenue Mall/Kalubai Chowk → BT Kawade Road → Ghorpadi → Flower area → Pingale Vasti → Tadigutta Chowk → Mundhwa Chowk.
- Commuters travelling from Kharadi are advised to take Mundhwa Chowk → Tadigutta Chowk → Pingale Vasti → Ghorpadi Railway Flyover → BT Kawade Road → Hadapsar.
- Another diversion includes Mundhwa Chowk → Tadigutta → Jahangir Nagar → BG Shirke Road → Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Chowk → Shinde Vasti → Hadapsar Industrial Area → Vaiduwadi Chowk → Solapur Highway.
- Those coming from Solapur Road can take Route 15 → Manjari → Z Corner → Lonkar Vasti → Keshavnagar → Mundhwa Chowk.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Himmat Jadhav, has appealed to citizens to follow the diversions, cooperate with authorities, and adhere to traffic police instructions to ensure smooth movement during the disruption.
