Parts Of Pune To Face Water Cut On April 16 For Urgent Maintenance Work
Pune, April 14, 2026: Residents of Pune have been advised to prepare for a complete water shutdown across the city on April 16, as authorities undertake critical repair and maintenance work on the water supply system.
According to the Pune Municipal Corporation, the disruption is necessary to upgrade technical infrastructure and carry out urgent electrical, pumping, and civil maintenance at multiple water treatment and distribution facilities.
The repair work will be conducted at key pumping stations under the Parvati water supply division, including Parvati, Vadgaon, Lashkar, SNDT, Warje, and Holkar.
Officials stated that water supply will remain completely suspended throughout Thursday, while on April 17, supply will resume gradually with low pressure and delays in the morning.
Nandkishor Jagtap emphasized that the maintenance is essential to improve the overall efficiency of the system. Citizens have been urged to store sufficient water in advance and use it sparingly.
Meanwhile, the civic body has also warned of strict action against residents found wasting water. Inspections in areas under the Bund Garden water supply division revealed instances of overflowing household tanks, leading to significant wastage. Authorities have indicated that penalties may be imposed on those responsible.
