Katraj Vikas Aghadi Warns Of Massive Protest Against Unresolved Civic Issues - Pune Pulse
To raise several issues of Katraj area such as extension of the new flyover creation, several people getting killed in frequent accidents on Katraj-Kondhwa Road & many more, Katraj Vikas Aghadi has warned to hold a fierce protest anytime in the coming 15 days.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Namesh Babar, Founder President, Katraj Vikas Aghadi, said “One of the main issues is of extending the new flyover. The current flyover is being constructed from Wonder City to Mauli Nagar. Instead of Mauli Nagar, the flyover must be extended towards ISKCON Chowk to genuinely solve the traffic issues for the entire area. There are more than 18 small alleys & areas which will come at the bottom part after the flyover is constructed. Due to the current plan of the flyover (opening of one end at Mauli Nagar), the traffic problems of the bottom areas will not get resolved at all. Thus, we are demanding the extension of the flyover till ISKCON Chowk for genuine ease & smooth traffic flow on the flyover as well as under the flyover. There are many other issues to be eliminated like frequent accidents & people getting killed at Katraj-Kondhwa Road etc.”
As per further information from a letter by Namesh Babar “The problems/complaints of the citizens of Katraj and surrounding areas have been communicated to the Pune Municipal Corporation administration through letters and personal meetings from time to time. However, no appropriate action and measures are taken through the Pune Municipal Corporation administration. Hence, it is seen that the administration is turning a blind eye to the questions of the common citizens of Katraj and surrounding areas.”
“A few days ago, I had held fast to death, Janata Darbar, Rasta Roko protested against the administration for the question of Katraj at Katraj Chowk. During the agitation, some officials of the administration were present and they promised to solve the problem in the presence of thousands of citizens, even after doing all this, the administration gives the impression of putting the taxes in the sand.” The letter further added.
The letter further added “Several civilians have been killed & injured in Katraj area, Katraj-Kondhwa Road, Navale Road. People are being crushed to death like insects due to the traffic jams on Katraj Kondhwa Road. Since the administration has not taken notice of the problems and development works we have raised, even after repeated conversations, letters etc, Katraj Vikas Aghadi, along with all Katraj citizens, are going to hold massive protests in the next 15 days.”
