Are You Aware of Google Maps Keeping Tabs on Your Locations? Adjust Your Privacy Settings
Did you know that Google Maps keeps a record of all your activities? In simple terms, Google Maps can show you where you were at any specific time, but you have the option to stop it from tracking you if you want.
Most Google apps come pre-installed on Android devices, and many Android users rely on Google Maps as their default navigation app. However, you might not be aware that Google Maps stores detailed information about your locations, including when and at what time you visited them.
It’s important to understand how Google tracks your activities and to know how to stop Google Maps from monitoring your movements. You can easily turn off this feature and prevent Google Maps from saving your location history. Here’s how:
1. Open the Google Maps app on your phone.
2. Tap on your profile picture or the initial in the top right corner of the screen.
3. Click on the “Your Timeline” option.
4. Tap on the three dots on the right side and go to Location and Privacy settings.
5. If the Timeline is turned on, turn it off immediately.
By turning off the Timeline setting, Google Maps will no longer save your location history, meaning it won’t know where you went and at what time.
