Arjun Kapoor’s Career Gets New Life with Villain Role in Singham Again
After a series of flops, Arjun Kapoor has made a strong comeback with his role as the villain “Danger Lanka” in Singham Again. Following in the footsteps of actors like Bobby Deol, who found renewed success with negative roles, Arjun credits this movie as a fresh start for his career.
Released on Diwali (November 1), Singham Again has been a box-office success, raking in ₹173 crore in just seven days, according to reports by Sacnilk. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the film has given Kapoor a platform to showcase his acting skills and reconnect with the audience.
In an interview with PTI-Bhasha, Kapoor expressed his joy, saying, “I’m glad people liked my work. This feels like a new beginning for me. Call it a rebirth or a second chance, but I believe this is a fresh start.” The actor, known for his admiration of Rohit Shetty’s blockbuster hits like Golmaal, Singham, and Simmba, was thrilled when the director approached him for the role.
Kapoor admitted that the offer came at the right time in his career, providing him with the opportunity to prove himself once again. He shared, “I was searching for a challenge and a chance to showcase my talent. This was the perfect moment.”
Prior to Singham Again, Kapoor’s last hit was Half Girlfriend in 2017. Since then, films like Mubarakan, Namaste England, India’s Most Wanted, Panipat, and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar all failed to make an impact at the box office. With his performance in Singham Again, Kapoor hopes to turn the tide and reestablish himself in Bollywood.
