Following Bali, Glacier National Park in the United States secured the second spot, with Machu Picchu, the 15th-century Inca site in Peru, and San Juan in Puerto Rico also making the list, according to the Google Year in Search report.
Additionally, the Gili Islands in Indonesia emerged as a trending destination among U.S. travelers this year, with Washington, D.C., and Miami following closely.
The Gili Islands consist of three small islands: Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air, located off Lombok’s coast near Bali.
Bali is renowned for its stunning landscapes, beautiful beaches, traditional culture, rich history, and ancient temples. It was also named the most beautiful island in Asia by readers of Condé Nast Traveler in their Readers’ Choice Awards.
Tourism on the island has rebounded strongly after the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Google Year in Search report lists the most popular searches of the year, showcasing the topics that saw a notable increase in traffic over an extended period in 2024 compared to 2023.
In terms of travel, these findings indicate the destinations that have captured a lot of interest in the past year.
