As per information, the petition filed by Sukhrani claims that a total of 114 areas in the jurisdiction of the PMC were reported as pothole prone areas in 2022 while 113 areas were reported in 2023. This indicated that the civic body has failed to reduce the pothole prone areas in the city.

Also, the hearing on the matter has been postponed to September 29. Last week, the Chief Justice of Maharashtra Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Judge Arif Doctor gave directions to the PMC and State Urban Development Department to file an affidavit within three weeks in the petition filed by Qaneez Sukhrani against the PMC.
