Senior Citizen Targeted in Chain Snatching at Chandanpeth

In Navsahyadri Society, Chandanpeth, a senior citizen was attacked by a chain snatcher around 7 AM while on her routine morning walk. The assailant forcefully snatched her mangalsutra, causing her to fall. Though the thief initially managed to grab only half of the chain, he returned to pick up the remaining portion before fleeing the scene.

Runner Assaulted in Attempted Robbery Near Mhatre Bridge

In another alarming incident on DP Road, near Mhatre Bridge, a morning runner was attacked by three individuals on a scooter around 5:30 AM. The victim, who was on his 11th kilometer of the run, was dragged to the side and beaten by the assailants.

“I screamed for help, but no one was around. They searched my pockets and checked if I was wearing a chain before fleeing,” the victim stated.

A social media post by Shilpa Godbole highlighted the rising lawlessness in Pune, emphasizing that the attack occurred on a well-lit road near a political party office, even as other runners and walkers were present.
