Henan Kuangshan Crane gave away nearly 70% of its profits as bonuses during a grand annual event attended by thousands of employees

A Chinese manufacturing company has grabbed global attention after distributing hundreds of crores in bonuses to its employees during a dramatic year-end celebration. Henan Kuangshan Crane Co. Ltd. reportedly gave away nearly 180 million yuan (around ₹237–₹240 crore) in bonuses, equivalent to about 70 percent of its annual profits.

The unusual bonus distribution took place during the company’s annual gala event on February 13, where thousands of employees gathered for the celebration.

Cash Stacked On Tables

At the event, over 60 million yuan (approximately ₹79 crore) in physical cash was displayed on long tables lined end-to-end, creating a striking scene of stacks of 100-yuan notes.

Employees were invited on stage one by one and given a fixed time to count and collect as many notes as they could. Whatever amount they managed to count within the time limit was theirs to keep.

Videos from the event quickly went viral on social media, showing employees enthusiastically grabbing bundles of cash and carrying them away in their arms and bags.

Bonus Event For Thousands Of Workers

The large-scale bonus distribution involved nearly 7,000 employees of the company. The event turned into a celebration of the firm’s financial success and employee contribution.

Reports suggest that apart from the cash giveaway, each employee also received an additional 20,000 yuan as part of the bonus distribution.

Company Known For Generous Rewards

Henan Kuangshan Crane, which manufactures cranes and operates in more than 130 countries, has a history of rewarding employees generously.

The company’s chairman Cui Peijun, who owns around 98.88 percent of the firm, reportedly encouraged the idea of giving cash instead of gifts during the event. In previous years, the company had distributed items such as washing machines, gold necklaces and rings to its employees.

In 2024, after earning around 260 million yuan in profit, the company distributed nearly 170 million yuan among its staff. It also celebrated International Women’s Day by awarding bonuses worth about 1.6 million yuan to around 2,000 female employees.

The latest bonus event has sparked widespread discussion online, with many social media users praising the company for sharing a large portion of its profits directly with employees.
