With the growing population in Pune, the number of vehicles has also increased significantly. Considering Pune’s projected growth till 2054, alternative transport systems such as ring roads, bypasses, flyovers, and metro services are being developed to ensure smooth and efficient traffic movement. Regular meetings are being held between the PMC, traffic police, and related departments to improve traffic lights, junctions, traffic islands, road dividers, appoint traffic wardens, install signboards, carry out lane markings, zebra crossings, and relocate bus stops that obstruct traffic.

To improve coordination among various components of public transportation, the traffic plan will seek suggestions and objections from stakeholders. Necessary measures will also be implemented in consultation with local representatives, Minister Misal assured while responding to the attention motion.
