‘DigiYatra’ Service Launched at Pune International Airport’s New Terminal
Pune International Airport has introduced the ‘DigiYatra’ check-in system at its newly inaugurated terminal, offering passengers a seamless and hassle-free travel experience. With the implementation of this biometric self-boarding system, passengers can now enjoy a paperless and digital journey from the airport entrance to boarding their flight, significantly reducing waiting times and long queues.
Enhanced Convenience for Domestic Travelers
The DigiYatra facility aims to simplify the airport experience for domestic travelers, ensuring faster and more efficient check-ins. Pune Airport is undergoing a major transformation, with several modern amenities being added to enhance passenger convenience. The activation of DigiYatra is a key step in this modernization process.
How DigiYatra Works
DigiYatra is a fully biometric-based self-boarding system that enables passengers to complete their journey digitally. From entering the airport to boarding the aircraft, all processes are streamlined without the need for physical documents, making air travel more convenient and time-efficient.
Inauguration Ceremony
The launch event was attended by BJP State Working President Ravindra Chavan, local MLA Bapusaheb Pathare, BJP State General Secretary Rajesh Pandey, Pune Airport Director Santosh Dhoke, along with officials from the Airport Authority of India (AAI) and CISF.
DigiYatra’s Growing Adoption
DigiYatra was first introduced across India on December 1, 2022, and has since gained over 1.5 crore users. With a high number of Pune travelers already using the service, this initiative is set to significantly benefit passengers flying from Pune International Airport.
This latest technological upgrade is expected to make airport operations more efficient while enhancing the overall passenger experience.
