Friends Throw Birthday Boy Off 4th Floor Balcony After Fight Over Beer in Mumbai
Tragic birthday celebration in Ulhasnagar leads to a fatal altercation and the death of 23-year-old Karthik Vayal.
In a tragic incident in Ulhasnagar, Thane district, three youths allegedly pushed their friend off a fourth-floor building during a birthday celebration, on June 27, resulting in his death, police reported on Tuesday.
Karthik Vayal, 23, who was celebrating his birthday, when a heated argument over beer and liquor escalated into a violent brawl. During the celebration, Karthik reportedly hit Nilesh Kshirsagar, 23, with a bottle. In retaliation, Dheeraj Yadav, 23, and Sagar Kale, 24, allegedly severely beat Karthik before throwing him from the fourth floor of Arya Apartments in Chinchpada.
Karthik died instantly from the fall. His friends, in a state of panic, fled the scene. After a thorough investigation, the police apprehended the trio. Inspector Anil Padwal of Vithalwadi police station confirmed that the suspects have been remanded to custody until July 3, with the investigation ongoing.
The suspects initially claimed they had left to take the injured Nilesh to a hospital and found Karthik dead upon their return. Inconsistencies in their statements and suspicions raised by Karthik’s family led the police to file a murder case. Sufficient evidence was gathered to arrest the trio on Sunday.
