Goa: Man Feared Drowned After Car Plunges Into River During High-Speed Chase in St Estevan Village

Indian Navy and Fire Brigade launch extensive rescue operations to locate missing driver.

A 22-year-old man, Bhashudev Bhandari from Bharuch, Gujarat, is feared to have drowned after his car plunged into a river in North Goa’s St Estevan village during a high-speed chase in the early hours of Sunday. The incident occurred around 1.25 am, when Bhandari, accompanied by a woman, drove his vehicle off a jetty while attempting to evade another car following a collision in Marcel village.

The woman managed to escape and swim to safety as the car began to sink. However, Bhandari remains missing. Rescue efforts are currently underway, with fire services and divers from the Indian Navy conducting an extensive search to locate the victim.
