Gym trainer arrested in extortion case by Chakan Police
Pune : A 36 years old gym trainer has been arrested by Chakan Police in a case of extortion of a college going student.Mithun Sopan Mungase was arrested by an anti extortion squad for demanding Rs 5 lakh from the complainant.
Police said the complainant is a college student, so he approached police to register a police complaint. In the last week, the complainant received a call from an unknown person, demanding Rs 5 lakh and threatening to viral videos and photos from his pen drive, if he failed to pay.The complainant had paid Rs 14,000 by making online transactions.
Even after that the accused demanded more money, hence the complainant finally approached police seeking further help. After analysing bank details, police identified the accused and arrested him. During investigation the accused revealed that, accused is a gym trainer and he got an unknown pen drive in his gym. There he hatched a plan to extort money from owner of the pen drive.Police told, accused was in urgent need of money hence he hatched a plan to extort money from the complainant.
