Heavy Rain Expected Across Maharashtra: Orange and Yellow Alerts Issued
The monsoon is expected to intensify in Maharashtra, excluding Marathwada, due to the influence of two low-pressure systems: one in the east-central Arabian Sea moving northward along the Karnataka-Goa coast and the other in West Bengal, moving westward. Starting from the evening of August 23, heavy rainfall is predicted across the state. An Orange Alert, indicating heavy to very heavy rainfall, has been issued.

- Mumbai, Nashik, Kolhapur ghats (24-25 August), Sindhudurg (24-26 August), Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon (25 August), Vidarbha (24-25 August)
