On 17th October, the operations of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai will be closed for six hours.

As per further information, repair and maintenance work will be done on both runways at Mumbai Airport. Therefore, flights at the airport will be closed from 11 am to 5 pm on Tuesday, October 17. So, the passengers will be able to travel only after 5 pm. However, in the meantime, passengers will be inconvenienced as the flight service will be closed for six hours.

The rainy season has just ended. Mumbai received 400 mm of rain this year. Due to this, the runway is likely to be damaged in many places. Airport security is also important. Therefore, it has been decided to close the air service for repair and inspection of the airstrip. The airport will be closed only for the maintenance of the runway. For this maintenance, notices were issued to the airlines and concerned six months ago. Accordingly, the airport administration said that this work will be taken up now.
