Pune: The Income Tax Department raided Neelkanth Jewellers, a famous jewellery store in Pune, on Thursday morning.
As per further information, a team of the Income Tax Department started raiding the famous Neelkanth Jewellers in Narayan Peth, Pune. This raid has been conducted in Hadapsar, Patrya Maruti Chowk, Baner area of Pune. Some documents have been confiscated in this action.
It is worthy to note that Neelkanth Jewellers is a major bullion dealer in Pune. The officials of the IT department had received information that irregularities were found in their transactions during the last year. Accordingly, this raid has been going on since this morning. The officials of the IT department came in 40 vehicles. A large team of police also accompanied the officers.
Officials said raids are underway at Neelkanth Jewellers in Hadapsar, Patrya Maruti Chowk, and Baner. Also, raids have been conducted at the house of the owners of Neelkanth Jewellers. Officials have checked many documents. Some documents have been confiscated.
There has been a stir due to the sudden raid. Officials started this operation very secretly. This operation was done by taking some private cars and under police protection. Neelkanth Jewellers have huge bullion stocks in Pune. A large number of citizens buy and sell gold from here.
