Salman Khan’s upcoming Eid release, Sikandar, has sparked a discussion with its trailer release, featuring him romancing a much younger Rashmika Mandanna. This age gap, a recurring theme in Salman’s films, was addressed by the star himself at the press meet, likely with his trademark wit and charm.

When asked about the 31-year age gap between him and Rashmika Mandanna, 28, Salman Khan, 59, responded with a playful remark. He said, “Phir vo bolte hain 31 years ka difference hai heroine aur mujh mein. Jab heroine ko problem nahi hain, heroine ke father ko problem nahi hain, tumko kya problem hain? Kal jab inki shaadi ho jayegi, bacche ho jaenge, toh unke sath bhi kaam karenge. Pati ka permission toh mil hi jayega na? (They say there is a 31-year age difference between the heroine and me. When the heroine has no problem, and neither does her father, why should you have a problem? Tomorrow, when she gets married and has children, we will still work together. She will surely get her husband’s permission, right?)” His witty reply had the press laughing.

Salman didn’t stop there. He added, “And when she (Rashmika) gets married, has a daughter, and becomes a big star, we’ll still work together. We’ll get the mother’s (Rashmika’s) permission for sure,” he said at the event.

Praising Rashmika’s commitment, Salman Khan shared that she reminded him of his “younger self.”

“She’s given her all. She would finish shooting for Pushpa 2 by 7 pm, then join us at 9 pm, working until 6:30 am, then head back to Pushpa 2 work. Even after breaking her leg, she continued shooting with us and never canceled a day of work. She really reminds me of the younger me,” Salman Khan said about Rashmika.

Salman Khan’s “Sikandar” is set to release on March 30th, coinciding with Eid. This isn’t the first time Salman has deviated from the typical Friday release for his films. Last year, “Tiger 3” premiered on a Sunday, coinciding with Diwali, a move that some industry experts questioned, as it potentially missed out on the benefits of a full festive weekend.

The trailer for “Sikandar” dropped on March 23rd, showcasing Salman in his usual action-packed persona, delivering punches and taking down bad guys. The film was shot under tight security due to threats against the actor. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by AR Murugadoss, “Sikandar” is set to hit theaters on March 30th.
