Lonavala receives 275 mm rain in 24 hours; breaks record
Pune: Very heavy rains have battered Lonavala in the last 24 hours breaking all the records. As per information, Lonavala received 275 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours. As a result, rivers, and water bodies in the area have started overflowing.
As per reports, this year Lonavala has so far received 2601 mm rainfall which is 101 mm more than the previous year till July 24. Last year there was 2501 mm of rain till date.

Lonavala is the centre of attraction for tourists. Tourists from all over the country including Maharashtra visit Lonavala. Most of the tourists come from Pune and Mumbai. Waterfalls started flowing from the mountain range of Sahyadri and coupled with lush greenery make Lonavala a must-visit during monsoons. Tourists flock in large numbers on Saturdays and Sundays to enjoy this. Indrayani River has started overflowing along with the Bhushi Dam.
