Davos, Switzerland: On the first day of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Maharashtra signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth a record-breaking ₹4.99 lakh crore. These investments are projected to generate approximately 92,235 jobs in the state, providing a significant boost to its economic growth.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who is leading the delegation, described the agreements as a major milestone for the state. The largest of these deals, valued at ₹3 lakh crore, was signed with JSW Group for projects in steel, renewable energy, infrastructure, cement, lithium-ion batteries, and solar modules.

- First Agreement for Gadchiroli:
The first MoU was signed for Gadchiroli district with Kalyani Group, focusing on defense, steel, and electric vehicles (EVs). The project involves an investment of ₹5,200 crore and will create 4,000 jobs. - Other Major Agreements:
- Reliance Infrastructure: ₹16,500 crore investment in defense, generating 2,450 jobs in Ratnagiri.
- Balasore Alloys: ₹17,000 crore investment in steel and metals, creating 3,200 jobs.
- Viraj Profiles: ₹12,000 crore for steel and metals in Palghar, providing 3,500 jobs.
- JSW Group: ₹3 lakh crore in various sectors, creating 10,000 jobs.
- Investments Across Multiple Sectors:
The agreements span logistics, automobiles, IT, infrastructure, green hydrogen, renewable energy, and entertainment. Prominent companies involved include AB InBev, Blackstone, Bisleri International, BookMyShow, and Welspun. - Employment Generation:
The projects are expected to provide employment opportunities across districts like Nagpur, Pune, Palghar, and Ratnagiri.
