The actor, known for his work in television and comedy shows, has launched a vegetarian Malvani restaurant in Dadar after months of preparation.

Marathi actor Sameer Khandekar has added a new chapter to his career by stepping into the hospitality business. The actor has launched his own vegetarian Malvani restaurant, ‘Pithi Bhaat’, in Mumbai’s Dadar area and shared the news with fans through social media.

In recent years, several Marathi actors have explored business ventures alongside their acting careers. Sameer has now joined that growing list by opening a restaurant focused on authentic vegetarian Malvani cuisine.

Announcing the launch, the actor shared photographs and videos of the restaurant and wrote, “Our doors are open for you, come and enjoy vegetarian Malvani dishes. Pithi Bhaat is waiting for you.”

The restaurant was officially inaugurated on June 6 and is located at Shop No. 1, Corner View Building, Gokhale Road, Dadar West, Mumbai, near Dadar Metro Station’s A3 Exit. Sameer has entered the venture along with his wife.

According to posts shared by the restaurant, the project is the result of months of hard work and planning. One message on the restaurant’s social media page described the journey as “many months of hard work, countless half-sleepless nights” that eventually turned a dream into reality.

Food lovers visiting the restaurant can expect a range of traditional vegetarian Malvani dishes. The menu reportedly includes Pithi Bhaat, Malvani Vade, Ras Shirwale, Sar Bhaat, Malpua, Poha, Sheera, black pea usal, brinjal preparations, suran dishes and potato slices, among other regional favourites.

Several Marathi entertainment industry personalities congratulated Sameer on his new venture. Actors including Ashwini Kasar, Rasika Vengurlekar, Rutuja Bagwe, Bhargavi Chirmule, Vanita Kharat, Spruha Joshi and Mayuri Deshmukh extended their best wishes after the announcement.

Sameer Khandekar became a familiar face among Marathi television audiences through shows such as Kahe Diya Pardes and Ti Paart Aaliye. He is also known for his appearances in the popular comedy show Maharashtrachi Hasya Jatra, besides working in web series, short films and Marathi cinema.

With the launch of ‘Pithi Bhaat’, the actor hopes to bring the flavours of authentic vegetarian Malvani cuisine to food enthusiasts in Mumbai while pursuing a passion beyond the entertainment industry.
