Offline Entry To Mumbai Mantralaya Discontinued; DigiPravesh Mandatory From August 1

No More Offline Passes: Entry To Mantralaya Now Through ‘DG App’
Mumbai, July 26, 2025: Starting August 1, 2025, offline entry into Mumbai’s Mantralaya will be completely discontinued. The Maharashtra government has mandated the use of the online “DigiPravesh” system for all visitor entries. This digital system will now be the sole method for gaining access to the state administrative headquarters.
The state had earlier implemented facial recognition systems for government employees and officials. Now, the same digital approach will extend to visitors.
As part of the DigiPravesh system, visitors must pre-register online with their Aadhaar details, specify the department or officer they intend to meet, and undergo facial verification. This verification process will take just 10 seconds, and a QR code will be issued for entry.
Officials confirmed that all departments and ministers’ offices have been notified about the mandatory switch. The move is aimed at improving security and efficiency within the Mantralaya premises, significantly reducing waiting time and managing visitor flow more effectively.
Sources also revealed that a similar digital system may soon be tested at the Vidhan Bhavan, especially after recent incidents of conflict involving supporters of MLAs. Discussions are ongoing regarding the feasibility of extending the DigiPravesh system there as well.
