Pilot-turned-Youtuber Gaurav Taneja informs earning more than CEO of Air Asia

Pune: Switching from the aviation industry to full-time content creation has proven to be advantageous for YouTuber Gaurav Taneja, also known as ‘Flying Beast’ online.
In a recent interview with Raj Shamani, Taneja asserted that he earns a higher income than the CEO of AirAsia, the company that terminated his employment.
Taneja was dismissed by AirAsia in June 2020 after he raised concerns regarding safety protocol violations within the low-cost airline. He alleged that AirAsia instructed pilots to perform 98% of landings in ‘Flap 3’ mode, a practice that conserved fuel but compromised passenger safety.
Already a famous vlogger, Taneja transitioned to full-time content creation during the pandemic. Presently, he boasts 8.6 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, in addition to a substantial following on other platforms such as Instagram and X (Twitter).
During the interview, which was uploaded on YouTube three days ago, Taneja was persistently questioned about his earnings from brand partnerships and advertisements. However, the former pilot-turned-YouTuber declined to disclose an exact figure but proudly mentioned that he earns more than the CEO of the company that terminated his employment.
Earlier in the interview, Taneja divulged that revenue generated from advertisements and brand endorsement deals currently constitute his primary sources of income. When he initially began his career as a pilot, he earned approximately Rs 60,000 per month.
Gaurav Taneja, hailing from Kanpur, pursued civil engineering at IIT Kharagpur before obtaining his pilot’s license. Commencing his aviation journey with Indigo, he simultaneously thrives as a content creator and bodybuilder, managing three renowned YouTube channels namely Flying Beast, Fit Muscle TV, and Rasbhari Ke Papa.
According to Forbes, Tony Fernandes, the CEO of AirAsia, possesses a remarkable net worth of $335 million. Recently, he garnered attention on social media for his unconventional act of attending a meeting shirtless while receiving a massage, which resulted in widespread criticism.
