Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation To Host Pavana Thadi Fair From Feb 21-24; Focus On Women Empowerment
The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) will organize the much-anticipated Pawanahtadi Fair from February 21 to 24 at the PWD Ground in Sangvi. Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil has directed all departments to coordinate effectively for smooth execution.
The fair aims to promote women’s empowerment by providing a market platform for women self-help groups to showcase and sell their handmade products while enhancing their marketing and sales skills. This year’s event planning was discussed in a review meeting chaired by Additional Commissioner Patil at the Late Mayor Madhukarrao Pawale Auditorium.
Key officials present included Deputy Commissioner Dr. Pradeep Thengal, Assistant Commissioner Tanaji Narale, and officials from various departments like public health, disaster management, fire services, and social development.

The fair will feature food stalls, toy exhibits, and informative displays from self-help groups. Safety measures, including drinking water, sanitation, medical teams, fire vehicles, and CCTV surveillance, will be in place. Dedicated spaces will be allocated for stalls, including those run by self-help groups of women, persons with disabilities, and transgender individuals.
Cultural programs, traditional art showcases, and entertainment activities will add vibrancy to the event. The Khadi Gramodyog Mahamandal will also have a pavilion, offering visitors insights into traditional handicrafts. The PCMC expects significant public participation and has instructed departments to ensure meticulous planning and execution.
