PMC’s Covid19 vaccination drive begins from January 16

After a year long battle, India is all set to mark 16th January 2020 as a winning date against the disastrous pandemic. The Civic bodies have already begun their preparation to vaccinate people. PMC, too, has proposed its entire plan of vaccinating people, the selected individuals from health staff, frontline workers st the second stage, old age citizen (above 50 years old) – cronic disease prone individuals in the third stage, and common citizens at the ending stage. The PMC has availed eight centers that will be used for carrying out the vaccination drive.

The centers are as below :

1) Jayabai Nanasaheb Sutar Prasutigruha, Kothrud.

2) Kamala Nehru Hospital.

3) Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, Yerwada.

4) Sasoon Hospital.

5) Ruby Hall Clinic, Sassoon road

6) Noble Hospital, Hadapsar

7) Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital

8) Bharti Hospital

The above hospitals are according to the information given by PMC. Around 48000 doses have been alloted for the use of Pune Municipal Corporation, through which estimated count of 2200 people can be given two shots of the vaccine, which is as per the guidelines by the central government.

The vaccines are stored at vaccination facility in Narayan Peth. All the facilities’ data and the information regarding vaccination will be stored at e- Win software, while co – Win software will be used to store the candidate’s information, vaccination location. The candidates would be notified about their turn through an SMS.The selected individuals for the vaccination in the first stage are supposed to carry a government identified identity card. The vaccination center is segmented into three halls. The first hall would be waiting room for the candidates. The second hall would be uses for vaccination purpose, while the third hall will be mainly used for observation post vaccination.
Additionally, Pune might need 500 booths for vaccination, out of which 100 centers have been selected, so far.
