PMRDA gets environmental clearance from state government for Mhalunge Maan Nagar Yojana

Pune: The Environmental Impact Assessment Authority of the Environment Department of the State Government has recently received environmental clearance for the Mhalunge Maan Nagar Rachna Yojana No.1 implemented through the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA). The project plan of Mhalunge Maan Nagar Rachna Yojana has received environmental clearance for development.
Rahul Mahiwal, Commissioner, PMRDA said, “Since Mhalunge Maan Nagar Rachna Yojana has been given environmental clearance by the Environment Department of the State Government, the development works of the scheme will get definite speed.”
As per further information from PMRDA, the project plan of Mhalunge Maan Nagar Rachna Yojana has received environmental clearance for development. This town planning scheme is proposed in an area of 250.50 hectares and the preliminary approval of this town planning scheme was received from the government in December 2019 and currently, the first modification process is underway due to the change in the flood line of the river.
The first amendment draft of the city planning plan has been approved by the Metropolitan Commissioner as per the notification dated 30/12/2022 and the arbitrator has completed the hearings by calling for suggestions and objections and soon this plan will be submitted to the government for final approval. The approval of the environment department of the government was necessary for the development of the project plan of this urban planning scheme. For this, a presentation was made before the Environmental Impact Assessment Authority of the Environment Department on behalf of the authority, and the state government has given a no-objection.
In the Mhalunge Maan Nagar Rachna Yojana, the action regarding taking possession of the land under the proposed road has been completed and in this plan, a total length of about 25 kilometers of roads is proposed.
· The length of 36 m wide road is 587 meters
· The length of 30 m wide road is 2492 meters
· The length of 24 m wide road is 2599 meters
· The length of 18 m wide road is 5366 meters
· The length of 15 m wide road is 2710 meters
· The length of 12 m wide road is 5906 meters
In the said Nagar Rachna Yojana, 14.69 hectares of amenity plot space is proposed for a power substation, sewage treatment plant, parking lot, crematorium burial ground, cultural community center, etc. Also in the plan, 33.67 hectares of land have been proposed for garden, playground, children’s playground, river protection area, open space, green belt etc.
Purified water will be supplied from the water purification center at Warje of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for the urban development plan. Joint action will be taken with the Pune Municipal Corporation. A sewage treatment plant (STP) of 32 million liters (MLD) capacity will also be developed. It is proposed to beautify the drain flowing through the urban planning scheme.
In the first phase of this project, 141 trees on the road will be cut and 35 trees will be relocated. Also, 13630 new trees will be planted in the entire project. The development works of urban planning have been speeded up due to the receipt of environmental clearance. At present, 3 road works and 5 bridges over the canal are in progress.
