Popular TV Actress Resham Tipnis Angry Over Fake News About Son’s Death, Says ‘He Is Safe and Healthy’
After tragic Kandivali suicide case, actress slams rumours falsely linking her family and vows legal action
Television actress Resham Tipnis has issued a strong denial after disturbing rumours circulated online, falsely claiming that her son, Manav, was the teenager who died by suicide in Mumbai’s Kandivali area.
Clarifying the situation, Resham posted a message on her social media, writing:
“Please ignore this. Somebody is spreading fake news about my son Manav. He is fine and healthy by Bappa’s blessings. But whoever has done this is going behind bars. If anyone can help me find them, please comment.”
Her statement put to rest the confusion and confirmed that her son is safe and unharmed. She also expressed outrage at the spread of misinformation and declared that legal steps will be taken against those responsible.
The rumours emerged soon after a tragic incident on Wednesday evening, in which a 14-year-old boy died by suicide after jumping from a high-rise building in Kandivali West. Police reported that the Class 9 student, who lived with his mother on the 51st floor of Sea Brook Tower, was upset following an argument about attending tuition classes. Moments after stepping out of the apartment, he jumped from a higher floor, possibly the 57th.
A local resident witnessed the fall and alerted the boy’s mother. Emergency services arrived quickly, and the Kandivali police filed an Accidental Death Report (ADR). Investigations are ongoing, with authorities speaking to the boy’s family and teachers to determine if he was under mental stress.
The boy was reportedly the only child of a television actress, believed to be divorced. However, Resham Tipnis has firmly stated she has no connection to the case and that her son is safe.
The incident has sparked a wider conversation around mental health, particularly among teenagers, with experts urging parents and educators to stay alert to emotional warning signs and foster open communication.
Resham’s early response served as an important reminder of the damaging impact of misinformation, especially during emotionally charged moments, and the urgent need to verify facts before sharing them online.
