Balewadi residents are raising their voices over the dire state of their community’s roads, exacerbated by recent rains. The absence of motorable and walkable roads has turned daily commutes into daunting tasks, impacting the quality of life for all.

Bharat Shrivastava, a concerned resident, highlighted the frustrations of the community. “As taxpayers, we contribute up to 30% of our hard-earned money to the government. It’s only fair that we expect some tangible benefits in return. Unfortunately, the current state of our infrastructure is a stark reminder of the apathy we’ve been facing. It’s time for us to come together and demand better,” he urged.

Shrivastava envisions roads that are not only motorable but also safe, sustainable, and accessible for everyone. He emphasized the importance of infrastructure for economic growth and social development, noting that better roads would create opportunities for businesses to thrive and for the community to flourish.

Ravi Vatnakar, another resident, shared his daily struggles. “Walking on this road is a nightmare. One can’t even walk on this road. Even though you travel by car, it feels like a roller coaster ride. It’s my everyday struggle to cross this road when I drop my children at school,” he lamented.

Residents are urging the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to prioritize the construction of proper roads. They believe that by investing in infrastructure, they are investing in the future of their community.

“We need to hold our government accountable and make our voices heard,” Shrivastava added. “Let’s make Balewadi a place where we can live, work, and thrive with pride.”

Residents are now banding together, ready to petition the PMC for the roads they deserve. It’s time for the local authorities to listen and take immediate action to address the infrastructure woes of Balewadi. Multiple attempts to reach PMC officials regarding the issue failed as the officers didn’t respond.
