In Pune, district election officials are encouraging citizens to verify their names on the voters’ list and submit new applications by August 9 if their names have been removed. This step is crucial to ensure that they can participate in the upcoming assembly elections by casting their votes.
The summary revision drive draft roll publication will continue until July 25, and the final draft roll for the upcoming polls will be released on August 20. It’s essential for citizens to stay updated with these dates to ensure their participation in the election process.
The assembly polls are expected to take place in October-November. Deputy election officer Minal Kalaskar emphasized that voters with deleted stamps against their names on the voter list can register again by filling out Form 6 during the ongoing drive. It’s crucial for those who participated in the Lok Sabha polls to double-check their names to avoid any confusion leading up to the assembly elections.
Deputy election officer Minal Kalaskar mentioned that individuals with unclear photos can update them by filling out Form 8 on the election website or through the voter helpline app. During the Lok Sabha polls, there were numerous complaints about missing voter names. In Pune district, citizen groups have reported difficulties in locating their names or polling booths. The National Society of Clean Cities (NSCC) members have contacted the district administration to request re-registration of voters.
Pune Collector Suhas Diwase’s call for citizens to register as voters or make corrections, if needed, and collaborate with the BLOS for updating their information is crucial for ensuring a smooth and accurate electoral process.
