Jabalpur: A tragic road accident occurred in Jabalpur, claiming the lives of three members of a family traveling from Pune to Prayagraj for the Mahakumbh. The incident took place near Kaladehi when a speeding Innova Crysta lost control and collided with a culvert. Out of the four passengers in the vehicle, three died on the spot, including two women and one man. The sole survivor, critically injured, was rushed to a hospital in Jabalpur for medical attention.

According to Kamlesh Chouria, Station In-charge of Bargi Police Station, the family from Pune was on their way to attend the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj. Their vehicle, an Innova Crysta, was traveling at high speed when it lost control near Kaladehi and crashed into a culvert. The impact was so severe that the car overturned on the road. Emergency services arrived promptly, and the victims were transported to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College in Jabalpur, where three were declared dead upon arrival.
Victims Identified
The deceased have been identified as Vinod Patel, Neeru Patel, and Shilpa Patel, all residents of Pune, Maharashtra. The injured passenger, Naresh Patel, sustained critical injuries and has been transferred to a private hospital for advanced treatment.
Family Ties and Fatalities
The accident claimed the lives of Vinod Patel and his wife, Shilpa Patel, while Neeru Patel, the wife of the injured Naresh Patel, also succumbed to her injuries. Authorities have conducted post-mortems of the deceased and informed their relatives about the tragedy.
Police Investigation Underway
Preliminary investigations suggest the high-speed vehicle became uncontrollable, leading to the collision. The Bargi police are currently probing the incident further. Efforts are underway to provide all necessary support to the bereaved family.
