Pune: Human Nail Found In Sweet Purchased From Dadu’s Sweet Emporio From Camp
Pune, October 30, 2025: A shocking complaint has surfaced against a confectionery store Dadu’s Sweet Emporio located at East Street, Camp, Pune, after a customer allegedly found a human nail inside a box of sweets purchased for Diwali.
According to the complainant, Rajeshwar Vidhate, sweets worth ₹74,860 were purchased in 12 combo boxes from the store. The incident came to light when a human nail was discovered in one of the boxes containing Kaju Katli, raising serious concerns about hygiene and food safety standards.
Vidhate stated that upon contacting the shop, the response was unsatisfactory. “They casually said it might have been done by one of their workers and refused to take responsibility,” he alleged, adding that the response reflects negligence on the part of the establishment.
He further claimed that the incident indicates a violation of provisions under Schedule 4 of the FSSAI Act, which pertains to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Hygiene Practices (GHP).
In his formal complaint, Vidhate urged the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Pune, along with the Assistant Commissioner and Food Safety Officer, to conduct a detailed investigation and collect samples from the manufacturing unit for testing.
