The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) intensified its action against unauthorized structures by dismantling an illegal iron arch erected on Ajinkya DY Patil Road in Pathare Mala, Charholi. The builder responsible for the installation was penalized with a fine of ₹70,000.
This enforcement drive was carried out by the Sky Sign and Licensing Department under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Aghale. The operation saw the involvement of license inspectors Dhananjay Patil, Raju Vetal, Kishor Gawade, Raju Chaudhary, Dhansingh Dhyagude, and clerk Kalidas Shelke, supported by members of the anti-encroachment team and laborers. Hydraulic machinery was deployed to execute the demolition safely and efficiently.
Deputy Commissioner Aghale, who recently assumed charge of the department, affirmed that similar actions will continue to ensure the removal of illegal advertisement hoardings and arches across the city.
“We are actively removing unauthorized hoardings and structures in the city. The municipal administration is maintaining strict vigilance on illegal encroachments. We urge citizens and commercial establishments to voluntarily take down any illegal signage or arches. Failing to do so will invite fines and potential legal action.” — Chandrakant Indalkar, Joint Commissioner, PCMC
