Pune News: Pimpri Chinchwad Commissioner Vists Visarjan Ghats, Appeals For Home Immersion Of Eco-friendly Idols
Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh urged devotees to immerse small Ganesh idols in artificial ponds and clay idols at home in clean water to maintain an eco-friendly environment in the city. In preparation for Ganeshotsav, he instructed officials to install CCTV cameras at necessary locations, ensure sufficient staff at immersion ghats, arrange for Nirmalya collection bins, and maintain cleanliness at artificial ponds.
During a site inspection of major immersion ghats, Commissioner Singh, along with senior officials, reviewed the facilities and emphasized the need for proper signage, safety measures, and disaster management readiness at the ghats. The PCMC has made provisions for safety, health, and disaster management for the large number of devotees expected at the ghats this year.
