Pune: PCMC Collects ₹702.73 Crore In Property Tax In FY 2025–26
Pimpri, October 30, 2025: Demonstrating strong fiscal discipline and effective citizen outreach, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has achieved impressive results in property tax collection this year. In just the first seven months of the ongoing financial year 2025–26, the Corporation has collected Rs 634.85 crore in property tax, marking a record increase over the same period last year.
As of now, out of 7.4 lakh registered properties in the city, 4.78 lakh property owners have paid their taxes. The Corporation has urged the remaining taxpayers to complete their payments at the earliest.
Compared to the same period in FY 2024–25, when PCMC collected Rs 542.60 crore between April 1 and October 31, the current year’s collection between April 1 and October 30 has risen sharply by Rs 82.25 crore, reaching Rs 634.85 crore. Officials attribute this growth to systematic planning, proactive communication, and the range of early payment rebates and facilities extended to citizens.
To encourage prompt payment during the first two quarters, PCMC’s Property Tax Department undertook extensive awareness drives and public outreach campaigns. Many taxpayers preferred digital modes, while others chose to pay directly at the zonal offices.
Digital payments on the rise
Citizens have increasingly adopted the online payment system for convenience. Between April 1 and October 30, 2025, out of the 4.78 lakh taxpayers, nearly 3.91 lakh paid their property tax online—contributing a total of Rs 496 crore through digital transactions.
“The enthusiasm shown by Pimpri Chinchwad residents towards timely payment of property tax truly reflects their commitment to the city’s progress. This is not merely a revenue figure—it symbolizes responsible citizenship. By contributing on time, residents are directly supporting the development initiatives of the Corporation. With such collective effort between citizens and the administration, Pimpri Chinchwad is bound to achieve new milestones of growth.”
— Pradip Jambhale Patil, Additional Commissioner, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation
“The steady rise in property tax collection is a result of the department’s well-coordinated planning, digital facilities, and continuous awareness efforts. The convenience of online payment has been widely utilized by citizens. Going ahead, we aim to sustain this momentum while enhancing ease of service for all taxpayers.”
— Pankaj Patil, Deputy Commissioner, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation
