Pune: PMC Conducts Drive Against Encroachment, Illegal Construction And Plastic Ban Enforcement In KondhwaÂ
Under the orders of Pune Municipal Commissioner, a joint operation was conducted on Thursday, 16/01/2025, between 4:30 PM and 7:30 PM in the Kondhwa-Yewalewadi area (from VIT College Chowk to Kanha Hotel). The action involved the demolition of encroachments, illegal constructions, plastic ban enforcement, and cleanliness activities.
This operation was carried out under the supervision of Hon. Additional Municipal Commissioner (East) Prithviraj B.P., Deputy Commissioner (Zone 4) Jayant Bhosekar, and Assistant Municipal Commissioner Laxman Kadbane.
The operation included regional encroachment inspectors, health inspectors, junior engineers, and staff from various departments, along with local police officers. A total of 67 personnel participated, supported by 1 JCB, 4 trucks, 2 Xenon vehicles, and 1 patrol vehicle.
During the drive:Â Â
- – Encroachments on road margins, pathways, and public spaces were removed.
- – 40 counters, 2 carts, 6 cylinders, and other materials were seized and stored in the encroachment warehouse.
- – Fines amounting to ₹23,700 were collected from 26 citizens for cleanliness and plastic usage violations.
- – An additional ₹2,000 was collected for unauthorized boards, banners, and flex installations by the license and signage department.
