Pune Police Nab Duo Who Stole Valuables Worth ₹40 Lakh By Entering Home Under Pretext Of Begging
Pune’s Chandannagar Police have arrested two individuals, including a woman, for stealing gold and cash by entering a house through an open door under the pretext of begging. The suspects were caught in connection with a theft that occurred three months ago.
The investigation, led by Police Inspector Siddhanath Khandekar and his team, identified the culprits using CCTV footage and technical analysis, which showed a red Mahindra Imperio vehicle near the crime scene. Acting on a tip, the police tracked the suspects to Alandi Devachi, where they were found with the red vehicle and taken into custody.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the theft. The police recovered 52 tolas (approximately 605 grams) of gold jewelry worth Rs 35 lakh, Rs 26,600 in cash, and the Mahindra Imperio vehicle valued at Rs 5.5 lakh.
This successful operation was carried out under the guidance of senior officers, including Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil and Deputy Commissioner Himmat Jadhav. The investigation team included multiple officers from Chandannagar Police Station.
