The Pune Rural Police seized 48 kilograms of ganja valued at over Rs 9 lakh in a significant move. Police Sub-Inspector Shubham Chavan informed the Lonavala Rural Police Station about the whole situation. The three individuals they arrested are Nitin Shivaji Lehne (38, from Beed), Sandipan Patloba Gatte (39, also from Beed), and Ganesh Suresh Darade (30, from Beed). They’re facing charges under The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act of 1985.

Ever since IPS Satyasai Karthik became the Assistant Superintendent of Police for the Lonavala Sub-Division, he’s been on a roll, carrying out raids on illicit businesses and cracking down on criminals. To combat youth addiction in Maval Taluka, he’s been taking strict actions against drug peddlers and sellers as part of his anti-addiction campaign.

During one of the raids, the police got a tip-off from a secret source about some folks selling ganja from cars around Karla Phata in Lonavala. So, the police set up shop in the area from midnight onwards. Then, at 3:05 AM, near Tejas Dhaba on the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway, the action unfolded.

The Pune Rural Police team intercepted a vehicle that was under suspicion. When they checked it out, they found a whopping 48 kilograms of ganja valued at Rs 9,20,000, all set for sale. The total seizure, including the car and the ganja, came to a value of Rs 14,60,000.

The police nabbed the three suspects, and Police Sub-Inspector Sagar Aragade from Lonavala Rural Police Station is diving into the investigation to get to the bottom of things.

The operation was led by Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Pankaj Deshmukh and Additional Superintendent of Police Ramesh Chopade. The team was stacked with Assistant Superintendent of Police Satyasai Karthik, Police Sub-Inspector Shubham Chavan, and Police Constables Nitesh (Bunty) Kawade, Ankush Naykude, Datta Shinde, Ganesh Yelwande, Subhash Shinde, and Mahesh Thorat.
