What began as a challenge to prove her professor wrong has become a global dream in the making for Divya Rao and her husband, Raghavendra Rao. Their venture, Rameshwaram Café, is not just a culinary success but also a testament to their determination, passion, and love.

The Beginning of a Dream

Divya, a commerce graduate, Chartered Accountant, and an IIM Ahmedabad alumna, left a high-paying job to pursue her dream. Partnering with Raghavendra, a mechanical engineer and food industry veteran with 20+ years of experience, the duo launched Rameshwaram Café in JP Nagar, Bengaluru.

Their mission? To redefine the experience of South Indian cuisine with premium-quality food offerings, including crispy dosas, fluffy idlis, and their signature ghee-laden pudi rice.

A Love Story with a Business Twist

What started as a business partnership blossomed into a love story. While Raghavendra serves as the café’s CEO, Divya works as its Managing Director, creating a powerful synergy that drives their success.

Today, Rameshwaram Café serves 7,500+ orders daily across five Bengaluru outlets, including JP Nagar, Indiranagar, Brookfield, and Rajajinagar. They have also expanded outside Bengaluru with a new outlet in Hyderabad’s Madhapur and plan to open at Bengaluru International Airport’s Terminal-1.

With monthly revenues of ₹4.5 crore, the café is now set to make its mark in Dubai, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, and Gujarat, transforming into a global brand.
