Student in Pune finds a dead mouse in a chocolate shake ordered from a nearby café
The unsettling incident took place on Friday night, right after the student took a sip of the drink.
Discovering unexpected items like a dead animal or a strange object in what you believe to be a safe meal can be incredibly disturbing. Numerous reports have surfaced about unusual objects appearing in people’s food. Several incidents from 2024 include a centipede found in ice cream, a snake in a college cafeteria meal, a mouse in chocolate syrup, and even a human finger in ice cream, all of which left consumers shocked and horrified. Here is yet another incident.
Airport police have filed a case against the owner of a cafe in Lohegaon after a customer discovered a dead mouse in a chocolate shake they ordered online. The incident occurred on Friday night when two students placed their order via a food delivery app.
“They had ordered the shake for Valentine’s Day. One of the students, a 21-year-old youth, opened the container and drank the contents, only to discover the dead mouse at the bottom of the glass. He immediately rushed to a hospital. Fortunately, doctors said he was fine. But the cafe owner refused to accept it. We registered their complaint, and summoned the owner to the police station where he was served a notice ordering him to cooperate with the investigation. It bore cuts. We suspect the mouse likely fell into a blender and was then packaged into the container by the cafe’s staff who didn’t see it,” informs Police.
Senior Inspector Ajay Sankeshwari of Airport police informs, “The drink was ordered by a friend of his for Valentine’s Day. He’s pursuing a postgraduate degree in management studies, but also works at a private company in the city. He drank from the container shortly after coming home to his flat in Lohegaon,”
The cafe owner is now confronted with a situation involving endangering of human life or the safety of others.
