Pune: In a tragic incident, three individuals returning from a funeral were fatally struck by a speeding truck. The incident happened on the Nagar Kalyan highway in Pune’s Junnar taluka.
The accident occurred around 11:30 AM in the Gulunchwadi area of Junnar taluka. The impact was so severe that it resulted in the immediate death of three people and left others injured. The victims were returning home on motorcycles when the speeding truck collided with them.
Following the accident, there was widespread commotion in the area. Locals staged a protest on the highway, demanding action against the truck driver. The injured were rushed to a private hospital in Alephata for treatment.
Alephata police arrived at the scene to manage the situation and investigate the accident. Locals expressed deep sorrow over the incident and voiced concerns that the death and injury toll could rise.
