Work for laying water line expedited ; informs Shatrughan Kate
The work for laying new water pipeline started for the newly constructed overhead water tank in Rajmata Jijau Udya on Kunal Icon road in Pimple Saudagar.
The water tank is of 20 lakh litres capacity and is built under Amrut Yojana.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Shatrughan Kate, corporator of Pimple Saudagar said, “It is after consistent follow up with the civic administration that the tank was constructed at a faster pace. Once the work for water pipeline is completed the tank will be operational fully. The societies on Kunal Icon road will receive water supply from this over head tank only.”
Pimple Saudagar has population of over 70,000 to 80,000 citizens having 150 societies and individual homes and standalone buildings.
Societies receive only 30-40 percent water supply of the desired water supply. More than 500 homes are dependent on water tankers everyday. More than 20 water tankers are being called by these homes to meet their daily water requirements.
Kate further said, “Ever since the administrator has taken over the administration of civic body the residents of Pimple Saudagar are facing huge water crisis. It was after my consistent follow up both during April 22 and April 29 that if the civic body fails to take action stern protest against the administration. It was after this protest that the work for construction at the water tank was escalated.
Once the work is complete, the societies can get water from this overhead tank only, added Kate.
