As per further information shared by Darshana Mali, a resident of Ashok Meadows, Hinjewadi, on October 18, during Navratri festival, kids of Ashok Meadows Society, Hinjewadi Phase 1, celebrated the traditional Bhondala festival. They shared snacks amongst themselves & did various activities to enjoy the event. This event was arranged by ladies who managed the cultural events in the society.

On the eve of Navratri, ladies of Ashok Meadows society of Hinjewadi celebrated the traditional game of Bhondala with traditional songs like Ailama Pailama Ganesh Deva and more. A wooden elephant was kept in the middle, flower arrangements were made. Singing and dancing were performed! Kids brought snacks in tiffins so that the snacks were not visible and other kids guessed their snacks. This was so exciting for the kids. Everyone played Bhondala songs on the music system. All parents were so happy that their kids got to learn and celebrate the tradition of playing Bhondala.

This game basically taught caring and sharing to the kids. The game started at around 6.30 p.m. Initially, only a few kids were seen but slowly, the count started increasing and almost 50 kids participated. Therefore, this function extended for almost 2 hours.

Parents were so happy and requested the Cultural Committee to arrange this type of traditional program more often. Ladies who arranged this program are Darshana, Geeteshwari, Nikita and others.
