₹600 For A Beard Trim? Pune Salon's Price List Goes Viral
Pune, January 17, 2025: How much would you pay for a haircut or beard trim? A Pune-based entrepreneur, Chirag Barjatya, has ignited a social media debate by sharing the price list of a high-end salon in the city. The now-viral post on X (formerly Twitter) has many questioning the cost of grooming services in urban India.
Barjatya shared an image of the salon’s price chart, highlighting the charges for various services. Female haircuts range from ₹750 to ₹2,100, depending on the stylist’s expertise, while male haircuts cost between ₹500 and ₹1,400. Beard trims and shaves are priced from ₹250 to ₹600, with an 18% GST added to the bill.
In his post, Barjatya remarked, “This is how much a haircut at a decent, clean salon in Pune charges. Salons with AC, tissue papers, no Zee Cinema, professional barbers, and brands above Kerastase. How much do you pay for a haircut and beard in your city?”

The post drew mixed reactions online. Some users criticized the high costs, with one stating, “For men, anything above ₹700 is a rip-off. For women, it’s still justified due to hair length.” Another added, “That’s not decent; that’s luxurious.”
Others shared their experiences with budget-friendly alternatives, like one user who said, “₹370 for a haircut, beard trim, and a 15-minute head-shoulder massage, including AC and tissue papers, in Pune. Decent place, not fancy.”
The discussion has shed light on the growing divide between luxury and affordability in the grooming industry, with users debating what constitutes a reasonable price for self-care services.
