1,108 Pune Traffic Police Personnel Trained Under City’s First Traffic Police Academy Initiative
The Pune Traffic Police Academy, a pioneering initiative conceptualized by the Hon. Commissioner of Police, Pune City, has successfully concluded its inaugural training program aimed at upskilling all traffic personnel in the city. Under the guidance of the Joint Commissioner of Police and Additional Commissioner of Police, Eastern Regional Division, the comprehensive training was conducted in 18 sessions between February 23 and May 10, 2025.
A total of 63 officers and 1,045 personnel from the Traffic Branch underwent intensive sessions from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, covering vital topics such as soft skills, psychotherapy, the Motor Vehicle Act, regulations during VVIP convoys and Green Corridors, public interaction, CPR and first aid, and the operation of traffic e-challan systems.
Renowned trainers, including Mr. Manoj Patil, Mr. Suresh Gokhale, Mrs. Medha Kadam, Mr. Anil Pantoji (RTO), and Dr. Shyam Gaikwad of Jehangir Hospital, among others, led the sessions. The training also received valuable support from Ashwini Malhotra (CEO, Weikfield Foods Pvt. Ltd.), Ajay Aggarwal (Director, Top Management Consortium Foundation), Manjiri Gokhale (Elephant Connect), and Shrikant Patil (Director, TMCF).

Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil provided critical insights on traffic regulation and police-public conduct. The entire initiative was overseen by DCP (Transport) Amol Zende, along with officers Mahesh Bolkotgi, Runal Mulla, Chandrakant Raghatwan, Devidas Patil, Malhari Khadtare, and Ashwini Sarab of the RSP Team.
Certificates were distributed to all participants upon completion of the training. Going forward, the academy aims to expand its curriculum with technical modules and initiatives to enhance communication between police and citizens.
