12 Railway Stations In Pune District To Be Revamped Under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme
Pune, April 12: Under the Indian Railways’ ambitious ‘Amrit Bharat Station’ scheme, a total of 132 railway stations across Maharashtra have been selected for modernization. The initiative aims to enhance key railway stations nationwide, offering passengers upgraded facilities and improved infrastructure. Among these, 12 stations are located in Pune district.
The announcement was made during a press conference held on Friday in the presence of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

Notable stations included in the scheme are Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Dadar (Central and Western), Andheri, Tilak Terminus, Pune, Nashik Road, Nagpur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Kolhapur, Parbhani, Solapur, Satara, and Sangli, among others. Several suburban and rural stations have also been included in the redevelopment plan.
In Pune district, Pune Junction, Shivajinagar, and Lonavala stations, along with nine others, are set for modernization. Approved funds include ₹11.4 crore for Baramati, ₹44 crore for Daund, ₹12.5 crore for Kedgaon, ₹34 crore for Akurdi, ₹20.4 crore for Chinchwad, ₹8.05 crore for Dehu Road, ₹40.34 crore for Talegaon, ₹25 crore for Hadapsar, and ₹13 crore for Uruli.
As part of the redevelopment, stations will feature modern amenities such as waiting lounges, food courts, clean restrooms, lifts, escalators, and digital facilities. The project also includes beautification efforts and improved urban connectivity.
