14-year-old prodigy from Maharashtra, known as the "Human Calculator," has achieved an impressive feat by breaking six Guinness World Records in a single day
A notable recent achievement regarding Guinness World Records (GWR) includes a young prodigy known as the “Human Calculator Kid,” who secured six world records in a single day. GWR reports that Aaryan Shukla, a 14-year-old talent from Maharashtra, established the record for the “fastest time to mentally add 50 five-digit numbers” last year.
Recently, he received an invitation to Dubai to tackle some of the most challenging mental calculation world records ever attempted. To the astonishment of all, the 14-year-old successfully broke six world records in a single day.
Aaryan stands out as one of the founding board members of the Global Mental Calculators Association (GMCA), an organization dedicated to promoting and enhancing mental calculation skills globally.
As stated on the GMCA website, he began his journey in mental mathematics at the tender age of six and achieved remarkable success by winning the Mental Calculation World Cup in Germany in 2022, when he was only 12 years old. In addition to this prestigious title, he has garnered numerous international accolades and established several world records across different areas of mental calculation.
Shukla has achieved remarkable milestones in mental arithmetic, setting records for the quickest times in several categories. He now holds the record for the fastest mental addition of 100 four-digit numbers, completing it in 30.9 seconds. Additionally, he has the fastest time for adding 200 four-digit numbers at 1 minute and 9.68 seconds, as well as for adding 50 five-digit numbers in just 18.71 seconds. Furthermore, he has set a record for the fastest mental division of a 20-digit number by a ten-digit number, accomplishing this in 5 minutes and 42 seconds. His impressive skills also extend to multiplication, where he holds the record for the fastest time to mentally multiply two five-digit numbers in 51.69 seconds, and two eight-digit numbers in 2 minutes and 35.41 seconds.
“Daily practice is one of the important aspects to prepare for competitions, so I practice for about 5-6 hours daily. Sahaja Yoga meditation helps me to keep calm and focused. A lot of things in mental calculations happen in a flash of a second, so I cannot say what happens inside my head, I just do it naturally. Basically, it’s so fast that you can’t think, you just need to do the calculations,” Aaryan says.
In a discussion with Guinness, Shulka’s father emphasized that exceptional mathematical abilities are not a hereditary trait within their family.
