Key attractions around Kasarkod include the confluence of the Sharavati River, the picturesque Mavinkuruva and Higgund Islands, and the historic Basavaraja Durga Fort.

Padubidri Beach

Situated in Udupi district, is famous for its breathtaking sunrise and sunset views. The beach’s cleanliness and vibrant atmosphere make it a favorite among both locals and tourists. Padubidri is also home to the Mahalingeshwara and Maha Ganapati temples, which add a cultural element to the coastal experience. Visitors can also enjoy a picnic at the Padubidri End Point, where the river meets the sea. Amenities here include modern solar lighting, children’s play equipment, well-maintained washrooms and food stalls.

These two beaches stand out not only for their natural beauty but also for the sustainable practices they promote, from pollution control to renewable energy generation. The Blue Flag certification promises visitors a cleaner, safer and more environmentally-conscious travel experience.

For those planning to visit, the best access points are via Mangaluru International Airport, or the nearby railway stations in Padubidri and Honnavar.

Best Time to Visit: The beaches are ideal for a visit year-round, but the cool, breezy months between October and March enhance the experience

With ongoing improvements to amenities funded by the government both beaches offer a unique blend of natural charm and modern comfort, making them perfect destinations for a relaxing, eco-friendly getaway.
